Building Energy Rating Assessors

MCM Energy Consultants offer a comprehensive service designed to guide you through the process of achieving compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. Our goal is to offer you professional advice at every stage of your project in order that you end up with a comfortable, healthy home while at the same time having minimal energy costs. We operate in a completely independent and professional manner and as such are not influenced by “sales talk”.

Design Stage

We will work with your Architect/Engineer at design stage to ensure all the requirements under Part L are adhered to. This will include a Provisional Building Energy Rating Certificate, Part L compliance Report and an Ancillary Cert for Building Control at Commencement Notice stage. Also for the Provisional BER we will compile a detailed specification for all the elements that contribute to Part L compliance.

Construction Stage

We can liaise with the Builder at construction stage in order to ensure he is aware of all that is required to comply with the regulations. We can carry out a preliminary Air Tightness Test during construction in order to ensure the Air Tight membranes and tapes are effective.

Handover

Once the building is complete we can conduct a final NSAI Certified Air Tightness Test and final BER, both of which are a requirement for final sign off and submission to Building Control by the Assigned Certifier.
